Shopping Less ;-o

Yes Shopping less , up until my life turned upside down a few months ago , i was shopping fortnightly and it was good (no it was great not having to go weekly anymore , and i was aiming to stretch it out to monthly !!!
So new year new changes because i can tell you i have been soooo naughty going to the shops when ever over spending ,blah blah blah you get the drift Right...
So iv done my monthly shop , now i will not enter the shops for another month ,
how ever i will need 2 trips to farmer market each month for extra fresh fruit and vegetables ,besides what we grow here, and at the moment we have in ..
Tomatoes
corn
zucchini
egg plant
celery
pumpkin
capsicum
chillies
lettuce
strawberry's
lemons
nectarines
and a variety of herbs
And we will be planting more over the weeks so we have a constant supply of goodness coming from the garden....

So each month i will aim for -----$400 supermarket
                                              -----$100 farmers market
                                              -----$100 butches
And that will save me quite alot because every time ya pop to the supermarket ya go in for milk and come out with a bundle of stuff that ya really could do with out , having said all this bread i get for free ( my daughter works for a bakery ) and i often get given vegetables from my auntie and uncle if we visit there farm from time to time so i think this is quite achievable ...what do ya think???
and not to mention the freezers are full and so is the pantry and stockpile cupboard so I'm set ...
And i wont be entering any other shop's ,,,apart from thrift shops op shops iv set a budget for these though !!! I'LL keep you all posted on how we are going with it it shouldn't be to hard and i recon i have the thumbs up from Miss Molly whom really doesn't like busy places due to her Autism !!

I also need to start on my sons 18th scrap booking i was going to surprise him with a book of his first 18 years , but then he came right out and asked the other week when he was home from collage are you going to do me a scrap booking book ..mmmm kids ya haft to love them ;-) as well as i wont to start on some nice primitive Christmas crafts for the season ;-) as busy as this time of year gets i just love it so much I'm always a little bit sad to see it end ....oh and did i mention we have the Tasmania craft fair coming up to it goes over 3 or 4 days so looking forward to that and its on one week after we finish our no spend period lol good timing

on a mission......

Lately iv felt like our frugal ways are slipping ...yes i know we are all human

and it is easy to fall off the wagon ....
well with some much thought and thinking and a little bit of research we have decided
to have a noooooo spend period ,starting from tomorrow when we start our day we will not spend
...we will not spend for 2 weeks , it will be a challenge...how ever if we need medical or medication
we will spend ...but apart from a emergency like that we wont be spending ,tho the insurance and things like that will be payed they come strait out of the bank ...but there will be no supermarket visits we will
live off what we have in the deep freeze ,pantry , and stockpile cupboard, there will be no driving unless
it;s pouring with rain and the kids need to get to school dry and trust me it can and does happen here in Tasmania... I'm looking forward to this challenge i think it will be good ,it's so easy to go to the shop for milk and come home with a tone of other things and that's just what iv been doing of late ,i think this will get me back on track,no running to buy bread ,i will have to start baking it again it's so easy to get slack
but time to get back on track ...and it will be a fantastic way to use up the food staples iv stocked up on instead of being picky with what i cook and eat....
so it will be a interesting 2 weeks i think lol ...i will keep you all up to date with how it is all going .
