Hello Friends,

Here is a snow man iv finally finished iv had him half made for some months but finally getting through that basket of unfinished items, the weather has been so warm there wont be alot more sewing done until summer is over..

Library Bag

A few months ago i was at a brick-abrack store and came across a bundle of child's fabric i got about 2 metres of pink with dinosaurs on it , and about 3 plus metres of the one i used to make a new library bag for our youngest her other one was a cheap one from k-mart and fell apart , this one that i made will last and last on her weekly visits to our local library and the cost of making it was so small, all up with both bundles of fabric it cost me $6 but there is plenty left to make some more library bags for gifts , and quite a few other things!!

Christmas snow man

Hi friends , iv been busy getting back in to the swing of things , i pulled out my UFO basket, and finished off some projects , feels good to be getting back on top of things around here that's for sure.

We set up the Christmas tree and put out all our Christmas treasures , its looking good around here , I'll post some pictures over the next few days...

The weeks are going so fast before we know it Christmas day will be here, iv still got to figure out what gifts to buy/make i know a few years back i would of stressed out bye now if i didn't have huge amounts of gifts tucked away in the cupboards ..BUT not any more , i guess that's apart of living more simple it comes with out soooo much of the stress, and that my friends its such a good feeling.

Grubbing up Candles the easy way...

I've been Crafting yes i know its been SOOo  long but I'm slowly getting back in to it and have even gotten a few sewing projects under way , i still don't really know why i stop and start these things i guess i just get side tracked and busy with other things and family life in general or it could be because i don't have a sewing room now and i get tired of setting up at the dinning table then moving things and packing things back up I'm sure some of you guys must know were I'm coming from , but I'm sure - no i know i will have a sewing room one day , the kids have to grow up and fly the coop one day right? lol

                               Grubbing Candles the easy way!!!

This way of making candles grubby is only for display purpose only
they must not be burnt!!

I used some white candles and some red ones i had put away and was not using so this is what i did ( i had done it with plastic candles before and glass jars so why not try it with candles :-)

I mod podged the candles and rolled them in oats and mixed spice ,and Cinnamon let them dry over night then mod podged them again and sprinkled some more spice then let them dry ...now its up to you whether you coat them in modge again or leave them i modged mine to seal them .. the photos don't really show up how good they turned out but they were pretty good!!!

Rusting it up !!

Ive been working a a few more projects , i found these food covers at a shop for half price i got them for $4 each , brought them home and rusted them and i think they turned out quite well just have to find a home for them well one of them for sure .

Ive also been making some grubby little soap balls for the bathroom i will be making more of these they are quite nice and primmy i think... i have so many ideas in my head and things i want to do but its just soooooo dang cold i just want to hibernate for the winter lol
probable didn't help that i went to the local library and borrowed a heap of books to read and once i start on a good book i just find it so hard to put it down hence me being awake to the early hours reading while everyone else is sleeping lol i was hoping to get a early night tonight so as i can bury my head in a good book but its not to be i have a little girl whom is not sleepy at all and has been on the go all day i don't no were she finds her energy :-)

make over...

Nothing like a good make over , and that is what i have done , above is my $2 chair from the tip shop
then i had this glass vase so i grungie'd that up ..... covered some old books from the thrift shop -op shop
my old utensil holder even got a goat of paint tho i had to wipe some of as i for got to take a before picture

then i found this wall shelf at the op shop so a good sand and a bit of filler and a coat of paint brought it up good ... iv got a few more projects on the go and will do I'm guessing all this coming winter .. So what craft projects are you working on right now if any id love to hear about them :-)

FROM THIS TO THIS ....

Iv been hibernating omg this cold weather here in Tasmania ,all i can say is it's going to be one cold winter if this is what Autum is like ,and I'm sure missing our wood heater right about now ,gase just doesn't seem to do the same thing ,looks as if I'll be buying a few oil heaters to put in the kids rooms keep the chill of...

Any how iv been thrift shopping well i often go thrift or op shopping to see what Bargains may be had , and since the cold weather is about well crafting has started iv been sewing up some prim Bonnets and have some little prairie dolls on the go , and a few other things hence why i haven't been blogging as much iv been side tracked , any how the other week we came across this wooden wall plark or picture what ever you want to call it and my partner held it up and said how bout this ..well i just looked at him as to say your taste is some what Bazaar no thanks i said we don't have any little boys and i went to walk of then he said no but i could put some wood on it and turn it in to a tea towel rack, needles to say that stopped me in my tracks i really need to be a bit more creative , so with that i came across a few other bits like small table and shelves lol ... He started winging then how much to you plan on buying ,were are you going to put all this lol ....it's in his garage ;-)

Any how he was true to his word and put a rail on it and gave it a bit of a sand and i painted it and made a tea towel to go on , i think it turned out quite well and it really shows we don't need to buy new stuff just to primmy up !!

The one stop fabric shop ......

Yes iv been to mum's again the fabric shop lol , while i was there she had some fabric out and was looking for some pinks and blues for a friend i mentioned again how id like to learn to quilt ... but i need a quilting Matt and rotary cutter ...well don't need but would love to have , any how she gave me one of her rotary cutters , and some quilting rulers thingies ,,,and told me when she has finished the quilt she is making she will hand the quilting Matt and 1/4 inch thingy for my sewing machine ,and i guess any other stuff she is done with

also she gave me some patch work tops she has started but not finished ,and asked did i wont them to finish of .....well yeah sure i do lol
and a king size quilt top that must of taking for ever to sew all together ,the backing and stuff ya put in the middle is all there just needs all putting together ... i never took a picture but i will and post some time .... it will look beautiful when its finished but i want to learn how to quilt first so maybe it will be a next year job once our youngest starts kindergarten i will go to a craft group and see how i go with it , i don't wont to stuff it up so best i learn first .... and also she gave me another project and asked if i would do it for her  a panel of fabric that has the verse of FOOT PRINTS IN THE SAND   so i would like to start on that over the winter but not until i learn the basics .. and i have soooo much scrap booking i wont to get thro and so much other sewing .....I so need a sewing room ....oh well maby in the distant future .. lol

all i know is i have some much fabric in my craft cubard that i really need to start using it up again and i have so much crafts to do that i really need to use my time more wisely i think less time on the computer i have days were I'm so good and waste no time then there's days were i spend to much time reading blogs and what not tho i do try to keep it to night time to do but some times like today iv slipped up and here i am ;-o 

any how i better finish this here so as i can get some cleaning done and bake a loaf of Hamish bread yum !!

Grungie Time..

Well i was out the other day and found a few good op shop finds some wooden candle holders ,and a few wooden dishes ,a coat of paint and completely new look all for a few dollars ,so my weekend has been spent painting those ,as well as grubbing up my doily's again, and a few other bits i wonted done like my Christmas rag garlands ect , i also had some cheap plastic battery operated candles ,so i grubbied them up as well ,had our daughters 15th birthday cake baked bye 6.30 this morning ..Happy Birthday Erin we love you xxx , well i better go enjoy the rest of your weekend it's turned very wet here today feels like winter is back brrrrrrrr ....
